PUBLIC SECTOR LAUNCHES NEW CALL CENTRE FOR MDAs


The Ministry of Public Sector Reform has launched a new call centre to support the various MDAs and MMDAs who have signed onto the new charter. This call centre will be linked to various client service units of various Ministries,Department and Agencies (MDAs) to enable the public make direct inquiries through a toll free telephone line (021-611161) for an initial period of 3 months on a pilot base. Speaking at the launch in Accra the Minister for Public Sector Reform Samuel Owusu-Adjei said the centre has been designed to be the central focal points through which reliable timely and accurate information about MDAs could be accessed regarding their services, functions and standards. "This facility will support the development of a friendly, proactive and a facilitative goal-oriented public sector that would enhance the image of government and accelerate the country's development.Five agencies are been used for the first piloting scheme: the Driver and Vehicle licensing Authority,Controller and Accountants Departments,office of the Land Title Registry,the Passport Office,Registrar-Generals Department.The Minister entreated the general public to call the toll-free number (021-611161) to make all their service enquiries,report criminals and unfair treatmentments by public officials as well as seeking information from these public sector institutions.He encourage the public to call to make the pilot scheme a success
