GLOBACOM DONATES US$9MILLION TO GHANAS NATIONAL TEAM


Nigerian based telecommunication company, GLOBACOM ready to launch its services in Ghana has donated an amount of US$ 9 million to The Ghana Football Association GFA as the official telecommunication partner for the national team.
The package amountig to eight million Ghana cedis - is over a period of five years and an annual US$ 1.5 million will be paid and products worth US$ 300,000. The US$ 1.8 million exceeds the 1.5 million dollars paid by headline sponsors Goldfields Ghana Limited. The deal with Globacom was expected after MTN's US$ 750,000 sponsorship package with the Black Stars expired last month.The huge package will lubricate the Black Stars 2010 World Cup qualification campaign.Globacom has secured the headline sponsorship rights of the Premier League in an annual US$ 3 million deal for five years. The Nigeria-based telecommunication company also sponsors the Super Eagles of Nigeria.
