SPEED GHANA AND GHAMFIN TO ORGANIZE ROAD SHOW ON CONSUMER EDUCATION CAMPIAGN ACCRA.

SPEED Ghana and Ghana Microfinance Institutions Network (GHAMFIN) in collaboration with ARB Apex Bank and other skaeholders in the microfinance sub-sector will embark on a consumer education campaign in Greater Accra.The road show which will take effect form the 17th February-11th March 2009 is aimed at raising the awearness of financial services for micro,small and medium enterprises as well as the need for microfinance institutions to be transparent and truthful in dealing with customers.This was disclosed by Mr.Ken Appenteng mensah a microfinance expert with SPEED Ghana in a media training workshop in Accra. "The current road show will take place in ten rural and towns in greater Accra region,namely : Prampram,Afienya,Ashiman,Ada,madina,Akuse,Dodowa,Old Ningo,Dome and Mallam".He retirated that the objective of SPEED Ghana is to sub-contract the management of the road show in all the varous towns to a competnent event orginizing firm to help in adequate publicity among microfinance institutions,rural and community banks,SMEs as well the general public.Talking on the terms of reference Mr.Appenteng said,Strategic Communications Africa Limited has been assigned the task of organising and coordinating the road show in the rural and towns in Accra as identified during the scouting conducted by STRATCOMM Africa. Journalists were trained in the rationale of consumer education and protection,what consumer protection was,detail informations on the pending road show among others. Since the launch of the campaignin 2007 several road shows have been conducted in seven regions in Ghana:Eastern,Northern,Upper West ,Upper East,Central,Ashanti and Brong Ahafo.
