ISLAMIC REPUBLIC OF IRAN CELEBRATES 30th ANNIVERSARY OF THE OCCASION OF THREE DECADES OF THE ISLAMIC REVOLUTION OF IRAN IN GHANA

The people’s Islamic republic of Iran community in Ghana yesterday celebrated one of the most important events on their calendar, the occasion of three decades of the Islamic revolution of Iran in Accra. Speaking at the occasion, the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Ghana H.E. Valiollah Mohammadi thanked all present for joining in the celebration of the 30th anniversary of the victory of the Islamic Revolution in Iran. Iran is one of the oldest civilization centres in history of mankind; the history settlement of the land came to light since the migration of Aryan tribes in the 2nd millennium B.C he said. Giving an overview,he said in February 179 nationwide uprising under the wise leadership of late Imam Khomeini overthrew the puppet dictator and corruption regime of Pahlavi Dynasty which ended 2500 years ago of royal rule over Iran and establishment of the Islamic republic political system with 99.8% of votes cast by Iranians in a free referendum. But popular uprising and establishment of democracy and rule of law was not welcomed by some big powers that have always been an apparent support of the rule of the people. The ambassador said since the victory of the Islamic revolution and the establishment of the Islamic Republic of Iran, there have been a wide range of positive changes and reforms in all fields. During these 29 years of our revolution 29 general elections have been held and the 10th elections will begin in June 2009 due to the successful experience in performance both religious and democratic rules, we have offered the new doctrine of religious democracy of the new world.H.E Mohammadi added that the main policy in their five year development plans is to further develop their knowledge based economy and industry. Iran after our revolution has reoriented its foreign policy from north and developed countries to the south and third world countries, with views to enhance solidarity among developing and south countries reaching as much as possible. He said since Irans presence in Ghana 25 years ago, have contributed to the economy in all aspects such as agricultural and rural development, building of mosques, schools and vocational training centers among others. Abbas Ali Asfari the cultural counselor of, Islamic Republic of Iran in Ghana also congratulated the people of Iran and delivered his statement for the occasion.
