GHANA TEAM SET FOR ZAIN AFRICA CHALLENGE IN KAMPALA

Four of Ghana's universities have made it to the Zain Africa Challenge quiz to contest with fellow colleagues in other African unversities between February 13 and 23 in Kampala, Uganda. Winning through a qualifying tournament in Accra, among a number of seven selected universities across the country Kwame Nkrumah University of science and Technology,Valley View university,University of Cape Coast and University of Development Studies made it to the top to contest in the quiz. Schools who failed to make it include University of Mines and Technology,university of Education, Winneba and the university of Ghana.Both contesting school were asked questions ranging from science,banking and finance,ICT and arts among others.After the contest, all contestants were awarded for their participation and given some sovenires and engaged in a photo session.Joseline Apewu a Science student at the university of Education, Winneba disclosed to The Ghanain Reactor Online "how interesting the game was as the only female among her mates and taking part in the new game brought by Zain to Ghana". I am happy i was part of the team that kicked university of Ghana Out even though we did not qualify, i encourage more females to join in brain quiz because it is exiting ".The Communication Manager of Zain Burce Caremen-Annan thanked all schools for participation and called on winning schools to do their best in Kampala since this was their first time."we at Zain promise to support you through-out the game".She retirated Zains social reponsibility to Ghanaians as "zain sees it very impotant to invest in education andwill do alot to benefit Ghanaians". The teams will be competing for the largest prize of $50,000 to the university and $5,000 to participants. Zain is awarding nearly $1,000,000 in cash, travel grants and educational materials.The game which is the third in the series will involve teams from the universities of Ghana,Zambia,Kenya,Sierra Leone, Malawi, Nigeria, , Tanzania and Uganda. It is the first time universities in Ghana, Nigeria and Sierra Leone are participating in the question and answer game played between two teams of three players each.
