JAPAN GOVERNMENT SIGNS A GRANT CONTRACT WITH HUNI-VALLEY UNIT COMMITTEE IN GHANA.



The government of Japan represented by the counsellor at the embassy of Japan in Ghana Mr.Yutaka Nakamura has signed a grant contract with the Huni-Valley in Ghana yersterday at the Embassy in Accra.Under the Grant Assistance for the Grassroots Human security projects(GGHSP) scheme,the government of Japan is giving a grant of $55,312 approximately GH65,821 to the Huni-Valley Unit Committe for the construction of a Public tiolet facilities for two communities in the prestea Huni-Valley district in the western region.The Counsellor said the project will involve the construction of 10 seater water closet,one each at the Fante new Town and Zongo to completed in Jauuary 2010.The facility is expected to benefit over 2,00 people in those communities and surrounding areas.He said the facility will be very important to the communities such that there are only 3 public tiolets blocks serving 5,000 people and non at all at the Zongo.He said the government of Japan is committed to promoting development in Africa and realize the challenges to health and sanitation in Africa.He also commended the Huni-Valley committee for accepting the grant.The people and Assembly Man of Huni-Valley thank the government of Japan for their kind gesture
