RETAIN NPP IN POWER

Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, Presidential Candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), rounded off his campaign for president with a call on Ghanaians to retain the NPP Government in power on December 7, on Friday in Accra.He urged Ghanaians to "vote Number One on the ballot paper, make the victory of the party "one touch" and reject the change being touted by the opposition parties."Nana Akufo-Addo said any such change would rather derail the progress in Ghana's economic and social development made in the last eight years since the NPP was elected to manage the affairs of the country.He told NPP fans and supporters that he was not vying for the presidency to amass wealth but His aim, and that of the NPP, was to help develop a nation where human rights and the rule of law were paramount. Nana Akufo-Addo told the crowd that defied a more than one hour downpour to listen to messages, interspersed with performances from some leading artistes, at the Accra Academy School Park, said the NPP had delivered on its promises to Ghanaians. He said no other political party had better plans for Ghana and the NPP was the most credible party, and it was only fair that Ghanaians maintained the NPP in power to enable it to continue from were it had reached.Nana Akufo-Addo called on Ghanaians to be vigilant during the elections, seek the truth, be united and reject parties that had played the tribal card during the electioneering campaign in the run up to next Sunday's polls.Currently the MP for Abuakwa South, the 64-year-old lawyer, who was once Ghana's Minister of Justice and Attorney General and Foreign Affairs Minister, expressed his appreciation to God, with a one minute silence for protecting him.He asked the electorate not to vote back to power the main opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), which he said was incapacitated and incompetent, for its 19 years rule. President John Agyekum Kufuor urged the electorate to vote Nana Akufo-Addo to power to enable him to continue from where he was leaving off.Vice President Aliu Mahama said "Alla baamu nasara" (God grant us victory) and urged the electorate to ensure peaceful elections.
