Zain Ghana, has formally announced the launch of its commercial services in Ghana. The launch comprise of the first 3.5G network on the continent outside South Africa. Speaking at a press launch in Accra the CEO of the Zain Group Dr. Saad Al Barrak said "the new network will offer its customers ultra high speed internet access and for the first time in Ghana the ability to make video calls and the usage of multimedia content such as, the ability to send video clips, music and pictures at a touch of a button". Zain have invested over $420million up to date to rapidly roll out the network across the country. Dr. Barrak further reiterated that, Ghana's launch brings the number of countries in which "One Network" operates to 17."One Network" Zain's borderless mobile services are available to over half billion people across the Middle East and Africa he added. "We welcome Ghana to the Zain family. Ghana is important to Zain and we have invested heavily in bring the latest technology to create the best network in West Africa. Through our Pan-African presence and synergies in human resources, technology, marketing among others, we assure the people of Ghana they will receive a world class telecommunication service ". The CEO of Zain Africa, Chris Gabriel said the" One Network" borderless will help thousands of people crossing Ghana to other "One Network" countries such as Nigeria, Burkina Faso and Niger, that this service will have a positive socio-economic impact on them. Mr. Sowah Country Manager for Zain Ghana highlighted on the successful pre-registration allowing aspiring customers to register their zain mobile numbers. "This registration was not only restricted to English but in some of Ghana's local languages and this has been efficient". He said the company's goal is to focus in offering customers appealing products, with a level of service that is second to none. "Zain personnel have undergone extensive training in many areas and we are all keenly looking forward to the challenges ahead". Mr.Sowah also announced the company's social responsibility of donating to the Presby School at OSU in Accra and support to the Osu Children's Home also in Accra. Zain will follow up with a donation to some selected schools at Dodowa, the following day as part of their social responsibities across Ghana help motivate the students to learn harder. Zain brand is wholly owned by Mobile Telecommunications Company KSC,which is listed on the stock Exchange (Stock Ticker:Zain). The company has a market capitalization of over $23.4billion on september 30th this year.
