The Voices of African Mothers with under the distinguished patronage of the Ministry of women and children’s Affairs in Ghana have held this year’s second civil society Forum in Accra. The event which took place at the Great Hall of the University of Ghana yesterday in Accra was under the theme “The critical role of women in the attainment of the millennium development goals”. The forum basic focus was to provide civil society organizations, engaged in achievement of the millennium development goals, an opportunity for networking and knowledge sharing including the presentations and discussions of best practices. Some speakers at the event include her Excellency Mrs. Liebeth Anita Maria Venetiaan Vanenburg, first lady of the people’s republic of Suriname, Minister of Tourism, and Mrs Juliana Azumah Mensah among others. The event is scheduled to close on the 16th July 2009.
