Ghana Investment Forum 2009-Towards The Next 50 Years

The Ghana Investment Forum 2009 (GIF 2009), the biggest platform for investors to engage with Ghanaian industry and investment facilitators comes off from Wednesday 22nd to Friday 24th July 2009 at the Accra International Conference Centre. This year’s forum will focus on the mobilization of domestic resources to match the drive for foreign direct investment. As part of efforts to attract and retain local and international investments in the country, the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre is organizing the three-day forum with special sessions for specific sectors to highlight government’s policies and programmes that help make Ghana an attractive destination for investment both locally and internationally. Key presentations and discussions at GIF 2009 will centre on:- (a) Empowering local investors to start new enterprises, expand existing businesses or partner with international businesses to compete in the global marketplace with a view to creating wealth and sustainable jobs for Ghanaians and their partners. (b) Providing detailed opportunities of the major projects that we seek to attract foreign direct investment (FDI) in. The President of the Republic of Ghana, His Excellency Professor John Atta Mills will lead Ministers of State, captains of industry, international speakers and key representatives of local and foreign businesses to discuss investment opportunities in major sectors of the Ghanaian economy. Amidst the current global financial crisis, investors in Ghana continue to post positive returns on their investments. The Board and Management of the GIPC invite all current and potential investors in Ghana to participate in this maiden investment forum under H.E. President Atta Mills’ administration. The Ghana Investment Forum 2009 will concentrate on the following key sectors: Agriculture and Agro Processing, Financial Services, Information Communications Technology, Infrastructure, Manufacturing, Petroleum and Mining Services, and Tourism. The climax of the forum will be the Ghana Club 100 Awards Gala themed CELEBRATING GHANA’S BUSINESS LEADERS. The GC 100 focuses on corporate excellence (both governance and performance) to encourage businesses in Ghana to demonstrate and lead the nation’s efforts in the global business environment. Ranking companies serve as role models to the private sector and provide a forum for corporate Ghana to interact at the highest level.
