U.S AMBASSDOR CALLS ON LOCAL GOVERNMENT MINISTER.

The United States of America Ambassador to Ghana H.E Donald Teitelbaum has payed a curtesy call on the Minister of Local Government and rural development in Accra. Holding talks , Mr.Teitelbaum said it was important for local level needs to be strengthen, a great area of emphasis of the U.S government.There is also the need to form believers of local people and most of all knowing their needs.The Ambassador further called for the greater mobilization for the state to generate its own revenue and make impact on the ground by empowering people and to help government provide for them.He finally pledged America's total support to Ghana. The Minister of Local Government and rural development Mr. Joseph Chireh called for the need to really get local government properly stuffed. "There is the need in developing local assemblies and MDAs and have a broad consultative forum involving all political parties in helping share idea at the local level to further deepen Ghana's democracy". Mr. Chireh further added that,the acceleration of the frame work for ecentralization was of immense benefit to the country.He thanked Ambassador Donald Teitelbaum for his kind visit.
