BRITISH COUNCIL PLANT TREES AT AGISS.

As part of British Council's InterAction Strategic Leadership Programme (IASL) programme in Ghana,the Council has planted trees at the Accra Girls' Senior High School in Accra. The tree planting exercise served as an opportunity for the participants in the flagship programme to meet young people who will be leaders of the future and also to have great conversations about leadership.This in turn inspired both parties through the art of questioning and ignite a new perspective of the world.The tree planting exercise witnessed 60 students and the 22 participants who included Governors, CEOs, Heads of Civil Societies and leaders in various works of life who share the common vision of transforming the lives of people through better leadership and networking.During the planting exercise the Director of British council Mr. Ali Baba said "We at the British Council are concerned with environmental issues; hence in conjunction with the Council's own climate change project and school linking programme-connecting classrooms, we are committing thought to action through planting of trees to offset the carbon emitted in our daily activities. The participants who joined in the tree planting were drawn from various African countries and UK to attend the IASL Programme in February this year. The programme is aimed at engaging the UK and Africa's most strategic leaders. The participants engaged the students in various interactions especially on good methods of taken care of the planted tree. The British Council is the United Kingdom's international organisation for educational opportunities and cultural relations.
