ACCREDIT LAW FACULTIES-ATTORNEY GENERAL.

The Attorney General Mrs.Bettey Mould-Idrisu have urged the Ghana School of Law to allow its facultie s to be accredited just like how the National accreditation Board accredit institutions,to enable them run professional programs on behalf of the school. "I guess as you delebrate you will consider my suggestions". She was speaking at the first Law Teachers conference in Accra. "There is undoubtedly the need for us to consider the possibility of the reduction of the law school program from two years to one year,according to which program the law school will concentrate on the teaching of essentially practice oriented courses leaving out the non strictly practice oriented to the faculties or the faculties could teach even the practice oriented courses and the law school acts only as an examining body" she said. Mrs. Iddrisu further added that, a crop of lawyers inbued with the wrong values will negatively affect the development of the nation.In the same vein the right kind of legal knowledge and professional attitude will be an assest to the nation. That is why government will be interested in seeing that the best quality legal education is provided in this country. "Therefore all lawyers with MAs and PHDs should go and teach at the law school as a their national duty to the school to help impact those knowledge in the young ones to help produce vibrant and efficient lawyers". She called for governments total support to the law faculty.
