The Ghana-Caribbean Association have held a symposium as part of its 52nd independence celebration in Accra.The theme for the symposium was "Ghana-Caribbean relations:the past 50 years and beyond" Speaking at the ceremony the president of the Association Dr.Charlotte Gardiner welcomed all Caribbeans and invited particiopants to the program and thanked them for coming.
During the symposium panelists were chosen to represent various countries.Mr.K.B Asante spoke on the Ghanaian perspective while Mr.Clifford Campbell spoke on the Caribbean perspective.Others include MR.Errick Jones who spoke on the perspective of Caricom and Ambassador Victoria Mendez Charles on the the perspective of Trinidad and Tobago.
All speakers made speeches on the close relationship with the Caribbeans for the past years and finding better friendship the years ahead. Speaking on the Ghanaian perspective,Mr.k.B Asante narrated some close partnership with the Carribean during Dr.Kwame Nkrumah turner as the president of Ghana.He shared lasting memories of Ghana and the Caribbean which lead to various developments both in the Caribbean and Ghana. Africari performed some good songs to entertain participants.
